So I am still hanging in NC.
I have really enjoyed my
2 weeks of working,
relaxing and
being re introduced
to my previous life.
I am please with
the stuff I
got accomplished
and even the things
that I was forced
to learn and do.
I must say that I
have more appreciation
for my awesome husband
and what he does for
our family and others.
What a great guy.
One difference between
Durham and the DR
is that we get mail
in the US DAILY!!
I really thought I
liked this on most
days. I love my
magazines, junk
catalogs for fashion
and decorating and
the coupons are
not a bad deal if
I do say so myself.
B U T
Today I received
ANOTHER rejection
letter from the
Durham Public Schools
now this is not my
first it happens to
be my 3rd over the
past 3 years and
I am starting to
take it very personally.
They are nice enough
to thank me for
applying to the DPS
and I did not get
picked, chosen
or selected or should
I say Drew did not.
Crap, this sucks again
and I wanted to scream.
I hate to gamble and
this is how this process
feels. SO yet again Drew
does not have a space
at either Durham School
of the Arts or Rogers Herr...
I continue sorting my
mail and see ANOTHER
letter from DPS referring
to Mariah Daffron and
what would you know but
ANOTHER rejection!
So the questions I
have is why in the
hell can I not deduct
private school tuition
from my taxes??? I
want to send my children
to public school and
would be thrilled to
save the money I have
to pay in private school
for college or their
future. I am so frustrated
and fed up with this system
but feel helpless. How
will writing about it change
anything? This is
what I am doing at
2am on a Thur. I should
we blogging about the
great friends I hung
out with tonight and
the meal I prepared
for them, I should
be writing about the
American Ballroom Challenge
we watched and all
the great dancing and
costumes we saw.
No I am pissed about
the school thing.
AHHHHHHH
Yes I have a private
school plan. Yes I
checked all my
options with charter
schools and such.
Just playing this
game is NO fun
and I should think
positive and be thankful
that God has the
best plan.
I gotta do
what I tell my
kids.
Thoughts are Things
Only Feed Your Brain
with GOOD Thoughts.
Hoping you receive
good things in
your mail today and
a l w a y s.
Many Blessings,
Missy
PS- The sun will shine bright tomorrow and the new day will bring great things.

HOME ALONE
WOW it's Friday night and I am home in DURHAM NORTH CAROLINA alone, solo not even a dog is present. I arrived in Durham last Sunday night with the intentions of spending the week getting our taxes and other paper work done for the month. I had planned to go to another state to work for a week and then travel back to the DR on the 1st of March. Guess what? Plans change and bodies sometimes dictate what we are going to do and my body has come down with an awful cold, flu, sinus infection and wants to just stay in. I have decided to rest and chill and enjoy my quiet home. I am so missing my wonderful hubby who I know would nurse me and my active kids who would bring life to this quiet house. I did spend some time with several of our Durham friends and even got to see Drew's buddies play basketball and Jade and Star diving and doing gymnastics. These guys are getting taller and leaner and their hair is growing like wild grass, I guess this is the cool way to be for a 13 year old. Did I tell you that Drew will be turning 13 on March 5 and that we will officially have a teen in the house!?!
I can remember when he was born and now he is going to be a teenager. Where do the time go? I plan to write a post about the day he was born as we get closer to his birthday so stay tuned. I am also a little ahead of the game because I purchased his birthday present yesterday.
Hope your staying warm and that you have a restful evening.
Peace,
Missy

HOW TO DO WELL IN SCHOOL
In life you will have to do well in school to survive in the future, if not your dead! With my advise you can do well in school, but if you want to be a failure in school then put this paper down and forget about everything someone put into you to try to make you successful. Then stop reading this now! This was only made to help people who want to succeed in school.
If you want to do well in school you need to make your teachers day colorful by making him/her feel good by giving compliments to them... You will always need to be in a positive attitude because you don't want to get all fussy (angry) for no reason. Remember to be nice but not be the teachers pet! You will also need to be in the learning mood, you can't do well if you do not want to, I mean make the teacher feel good but if you don't put any effort into your studies you will not pass.
Another fact about how to do well in school is to always listen to what the teacher says because if you do not you will not be on his/her's favorite list, and you really want to be on that list. To do well in school you will also have to participate in the lesson even if you are extraordinarily shy. When I say participate I mean you constantly have to raise your hand and answer questions, study even if you are not told to do so it will help you for quizzes, tests and projects.
THe final facts I am going to tell you starts with a few key things that I have acknowledge and thought special card written down for the of the story,
When you are finished reading this I'm sure ou will be dumbfounded just like I was when I found out how to do well in school. Ell, back to the story.
The most common thing I hear after or even before people (mainly friends) get their report cards. I hate this teacher she teaches horrible blah, blah, blah blah.
I learned this ti from one of th the best teachers I will ever have and it is to not be so selfish. What I mean by tis is that you need to not just think of yourself when this happens. Your parents, guardian argue and make their child and them look stupid.

sun fun

I am speaking on Skye and typing this at the same time. I am very good at multi tasking (hahaha).
We are enjoying the sun. I know that lots of you guys are having your fun in the cold winter snow. Well, you can have the cold weather.
Whats happening!! Half a day of school so that we can receive the kids report card. We had a great lunch at a restaurant overlooking the ocean. Great view. I had to return to work but Doug spent the rest of the afternoon with the kids at the water park. The sun was hot and the weather was perfect for them.
The report cards were great for Drew and very good for Mariah. The kids are thriving and loving island life.
Work is interesting for me lots of new fun and not so fun and crazy things happen every day.
Sending the rays your way. Hope your day is full of sun.
Hugs,
Missy
